Western Wood-Pewee
  Contopus sordidulus

* Feeds high up in the canopy, catching insects and returning to the same perch.

* Prefers open woodlands, forest edges, and riparian woodlands.

* Feeds on flying insects, especially flies, ants, bees, wasps, beetles, moths, and bugs.

* Call is a harsh, burry “pee-eer” descending in pitch. Often sings a long vesperal song at dawn or dusk.
